Rap Battle 00's Bracket Round 1 (Minority Matchup): Eminem (3) vs Missy Elliott (14)
Our only white dude faces off with one of our only two females. This bracket is like Black HH.
Eminem did what the Beastie Boys did (made white rap for white people) while somehow managing to do it decidedly unlike the B Bois - i.e. surrounded by black people, appealing to black people and getting play on black radio and BET.
(ISAFNRC trigger warning) Shady's still my big for greatest lyricist ever, his mastery of vocabulary is second to none. While E40 creates and uses new words in chinteresting ways Slim just takes words that have already been chinvented and chinserts them in a genre in which they've never before appeared. Marshall's three different personals gave us three distinct sounds - Eminem the gangsta, Slim Shady the crazy comic/troll and Marshall Mathers the thinking man. He also starred in the best rap biopic. B Rabbit 4 Life.
If we just pretend his career ended in the 00's he might be on Mount Rushmore.
Since then? Fuck.

But I can't deny she made a name for herself off talent, not looks, not persona, just pure talent. And that gets her in the bracket. Her frenship with Timbaland gave her the sound to get her flow noticed.

Marshall marches on.
Edit: Looks like she lost too.
Oh.
“It’s my hometown”, Pleasant Johnson said of the Puget Sound area, “That was a big offer for me and UW is huge to me. I’ve known Jimmy Lake for a long time now and I love him a lot. I played with so many of those guys in the summer leagues…I know Hunter Bryant and Salvon Ahmed. I also knew Budda Baker. I was up there a few months ago and plan to get back up there for sure this season.”
