Looks like most of the money goes to the GOP yet Trump is looking to legalize and the democrats and Obama didn't. Might need another excuse

    https://opensecrets.org/industries/indus.php?ind=G7000

The point is that Trump’s instinct to legalize, which is good, will never actually materialize because he and his party are beholden to the private interests that perpetuate marijuana prohibition and they aren’t going to start going against the wishes of their donor class now.
Perhaps, but if you read the Forbes article, the author made good poonts about the politics of the thing.

Trump will bust out a path to legalization before the election and destroy the opposition.

The average whiny democrat will have to choose to stand up for everything they believe in....or weed.

We all know how that one is gonna play out

I'm the one that said it is a bogus excuse

I also don't think Trump gives a shit about GOP donors.

Observes every Republican-led intiative since Jan 2017 cater to corporate interests

    So he isn't a populist?

    Hard to keep track

Wonder why the donors and the GOP hate him so much and why the GOP congress won't give him what he wants so often

    Trump is not the "Republicans"

What? The donors loved the only legislative successes they’ve had: tax cuts and weakening financial regulation. The politics of the tax cut were literally the donor class telling Trump and the GOP congress that they would close the purse strings if tax cuts failed like obamacare repeal.

He has monthly fundraisers at Trump Hotel in DC with his billionaire donors (Adelson, Mercers, etc) and does the same with Mar-a-Lago. Are you paying attention?

The tax cuts were a major platform of Trump's campaign.

The GOP failed to eliminate and replace Obamacare which Trump wanted. The donors don't

The Congress is an epic failure in advancing the Trump agenda

GOP donors would have preferred Hillary

Are you kidding me? Obamacare repeal was the central focus of GOP dark money political spending since 2010 and what catapulted the tea party (which was essentially a GOP donor project) into congress.

Address the real issue. Drug manufacturers.
The same manufacturers that have you here defending Obamacare to the end of time.

For the good of America, you need to die.

Actually it's the insurance companies wanting Obamacare. The drug manufactures don't like it because it put limits on how much they can charge consumers.

But keep arguing shit you know nothing about.

    Bullshit...

Insurance companies have fled multiple states since Obamacare was put in place. Before Obamacare, you had 10-15 different health insurance carriers to choose from in Oregon. Now you have like 3.

You really have no understanding of current GOP politics do you. The donor class may have been against trump in the primaries but they all fell in line for the general and during his presidency.

Never Trump Republicans only exist on op-ed pages of major newspapers and have no real power in the party.

Actually I do. As I have illustrated

Let's see what happens. I won't give Trump an 8 year pass for not getting it done

First of all, carriers choose to operate county by county, not State wide. I'm not even going to look it up but I promise you there are more than 3 in all of Oregon. Second, insurance companies lobbied for Obamacare because they got 30 million additional new customers. Third, insurance companies are pushing to change the laws so it's not county by county but the bigger donors are pushing to repeal Obamacare.

Nice surrender. You didn’t illustrate anything and have no sense of who has and exerts actual power within the Republican party.

Get back to me when you do.

No I actually made several brilliant posts on the subject that illustrated your lack of depth and knowledge.

Like most of the resistance you have no idea of what you are resisting.

They got 30 million new customers that the rest of the customers are forced to pay for. Guaranteed money. That's called socialism. But then you know that as you are all in for faggy commie shit.

30 million additional customers being paid by government subsidies, then when the subsidies dried up, it was paid by healthy middle class payers in the form of higher premiums. With more and more middle class payers leaving the system, the insurance companies won't be able to raise prices high enough to make a profit, as the percentage of people leaving the market will be more than the cost increases. It would have been a hell of a lot easier to enhance the Medicaid program to get more low income people insured, than to overhaul an entire health care system into ruin.

BTW...county by county is true, and in fact lane county I believe only has two options Providence or Moda

Obamacare did expand Medicare. And the reason subsidies dried up is actions by Trump and Congress to overturn Obamacare.

It’s KP, Providence or Moda for me. Although KP is Managed Care, so not sure if they count or not.
