Tracy’s new catchphrase

What are you not understanding? These kids don't even have enough interest to come to our camp. Whether or not you agree with petes strategy that in itself alone is a huge fucking problem. It needs to be solved. You can't alienate local talent like that. The shitty part of being a college coach is ass kissing and political shit you have to deal with with these 7 on 7 guys and the prep athletes themselves. It's a problem and it needs to be solved. I think it will be. But letting it linger is frustrating to put it lightly.StrongArmCobra said:Smalls and JT Tui are the only two deserving of an offer at this time and UW was the first to offer both of them. What the fuck is so hard to understand about that? You don't think there are 2020 and 2021 4-star kids in California that USC hasn't offered yet? Tracy needs to calm his ass down. Not every single one of his kids is UW caliber as a fucking Sophomore! At least wait until the Spring evaluation period after their Junior season to bitch. Outside of Smalls and JT Tui none of the other 2020 and 2021 in-state kids have COMMITTABLE offers from the USC's and Alabama's of the world. Sure they can probably commit to Oregon because Oregon fucking sucks. When the in-state kids get their UW offer it will be a REAL offer that they can commit to at any time.

What are you talking about? All the Eastside Catholic kids have been up to UW to watch Spring practices and for camp. Smalls has been on campus a bunch of times. Sure JT Tui and Smalls didn't go to the Dirt Dawg camp. Big fucking deal. They already have offers and it's nothing new to them. Those guys have a LONG ways to go in their recruitment. You don't want them on campus a million times because then UW becomes stale and out-of-state schools become new, fresh, and exciting.AtomicDawg said:

Yeah. Uw coaches are purposefully limiting the amount of times they come around campus. We are all dumber now for having digested that thought.StrongArmCobra said:

The problem with this is that every other good recruiting team in the country doesn't believe this is actually the better option. There are a bunch of teams that have similar or better 'products' than us that could also make their offers super exclusive. ALL of them have decided that the potential value gained from exclusivity isn't more than the net value of just offering everyone. Alabama is still able to keep the perception that a Bama offer 'means something', while offering everyone in the country. It's a complicated equation, but the fact that all the elite recruiters don't give a fuck about exclusivity is interesting.HorrifyinglyAlluring said:Relax.
In most sales situations, it’s in your best interest to maintain exclusivity: creating a unique offer and quality that others can’t match. In conjunction with a strong product, you’re in a very strong position to negotiate on favorable terms. Exclusivity makes it much easier to maintain high perceived value. Most of you forget recruiting has been trending up.
I guess you could argue that our 'OKG' brand specifically lends itself to exclusivity more than other schools, but there are other schools with similar brands that offer everyone. -
Petersen is the mastermind and more detail oriented than any coach in the nation and got a degree in psychology. Everything he does is part of a strategy. Like I said before none of this shit matters. Winning solves everything and once the in-state kids do get their offers and get the red-carpet treatment from UW there will be zero salty feelings about having to wait longer for the offer. There will also be some in-state 4-star kids who never get a UW offer because the coaches will get somebody better at their position from out-of-state. People need to realize that and adjust with the times. This is a part of big boy recruiting.CokeGreaterThanPepsi said:

Didn't know you could get any dumber than you already were. Yes, UW doesn't want 5-star in-state players constantly at UW when they are 15 and 16 years old. That would be stupid. It's simple psychology that UW would become too familiar to them and therefore less exciting than out-of-state schools that they rarely visit.AtomicDawg said:

I would rather have them commit as 15/16 year olds if they are that good.StrongArmCobra said:
