Both groups here are in my top 10 and I feel like I can argue either side of the debate effectively. Led Zeppelin was probably more consistent during their career, but overall I find the Who to be a more interesting band with their very best work slightly topping Zeppelin's.

This one has the potential to be tight.

Perhaps, but I still think LZ probably wins rather easily, say 34-17. Not enuff folks appreciate the brilliance of the Who and get hung up on some corny material on Tommy.

Looks like the Who's tanking in this one to move up in the draft.

Baba O'Riley is one of the true GOAT rock songs. It's one of those songs where I'm like 'thank fuck for rock n roll'.

Some of my idiot friends in college thought Who's Next sucked because of the synthesizers. I almost punched them in the face.

I kinda think synths suck. 7-11?

Synths can make a positive cuntribution in the right hands but generally speaking they suck ass.

Zeppelin used synths in their later work. It was the cool thing to do. People forget that.

True fact. In Through the Out Door, also their weakest LP (not because of the synth though), was dominated by it.

Personal preference and all but I’ll take Baba O’Reilly over Stairway to Heaven every day of the week

Stairway to Heaven should not be cited as a top-10 Led song, IMHO. Always thought it was overrated. Kashmir, Immigrant Song, Dazed and Confused, Black Dog, etc are all better than Stairway.

Stairway is an incredible song musically and damn good vocally. It's so good it has fooled generations of late teens and even some adults into thinking that it actually has something meaningful to say.
