If that doesn't work, try this step.

Find CMD.EXE, and launch it.

Then, at the screen that opens, enter this command exactly as you see it:

REFORMAT C: -IGNORE_WARNINGS -SILENT

That should make your computer run a lot faster and make your Tab key function normally again. It also removes any old stuff you haven't used in a while.
