This has got to be good for our chances at Bryan Penn-Johnson right?

It would seem so. Hop's done a pretty good job closing recruits so far, hard to imagine he loses out to Depaul...

Bryan Penn Johnson plz come, can't stand Timmins anymore. BPJ starting and Roberts in the rotation, Timmins should transfer.

There's been talk recently that BPJ is not as good as people thought he was going to be. Doesn't sound like he is even starting for his high school team and playing less than 10 minutes a game.

Timmins is serviceable, especially off the bench. He’s troughed in the last few games but improved by leaps and bounds this year. LIPO

Agreed. Timins is not a 30 minute a game guy, but he can be a serviceable big for 10-15 minutes in hops defense. If hop can develop him he may actually turn into something more in the next 2 years.

I'd like to see him become more aggressive with his size down low. Maybe an offseason in the weight room and some more development. It seems like when he's got a size advantage he still plays as though hes going against someone his own size.

He sucks. He must be hurt. He's averaging 3.5 ppg.

Apparently he is down to a top 2.. DePaul and Washington. Even if he isn't getting minutes on his High School team, he has length and isn't completely unathletic like Timmins. So at least theres some potential for defense and some easy dunks.

Not saying you're incorrect but that just doesn't make sense. In what world is a seven footer not getting minutes on a high school team? He should automatically be "better" than almost everyone on the court just by virtue of being taller. Unless he's playing in a super competitive hs league and going up against other D-1 studs.

    Not necessarily.

Mommies and daddies who have paid big bucks for little Johnny on a travel team apply a ton of pressure on the high school coach. They demand minutes for their investment.

Lots of coaches cave when called into their AD or principals office for a meeting.

You’d also be shocked at how many big kids get washed out of high school sports as freshmen and sophomores because they haven’t fully developed yet.

This is true but HS sports are so political so many kids get fucked.
