There was a description of Claude Hunt in Bow Down to Washington by Dick Rockne. Hunt would come out to practice wearing the same grey sweatshirt everyday. He would spill his breakfast all over it, and you could see what he ate today as well as yesterday. He would crack jokes and then be the only one who laughed hysterically.

What do we say about football coaches?
"They always keep booze in their drawer. Happens all the time. No big deal"?
Dobie at least finally got some recognition with that plaque on the southeast side of Huskie Stadium. It would be better to have a statue about the size of Don James with Dobie in one of those early 20th century fur jackets coaches wore, glaring at Suzzallo Library. But, the dear UW would consider that inappropriate.
Coaches get fired. Even excellent ones who miss a few unsubstantiated harassment allegations, which isn't even their job to begin with. It's absurd. A damn shame, really.
