the possibly superfluous:
- I'd never been to Phoenix Diploma Mill Stadium, though I'd driven by before. Really, it's nothing special. Think of the football version of Key Arena ca. 2003..but the Key had better interior designs. Wow, that sounds gay. UPhx Stadium is just utilitarian. It's not bad, but it's nothing special. There aren't any cool concession places, and there should be. Also, it was 74 degrees. Open the damn roof. Also, there is a lot of farmland around it. It's weird.
- Parking for the gayme was a clusterfuck. That needs to be way better. It's confusing, and fuck the shops that are next door and don't let you park...they live off that stadium and Jobing or Talking Dick Arena, or whatever it's called today (where Coyotes play). I get it, but still fuck them. They'd have to move to some other suburban sprawl area if those arenas weren't there.
The actual gayme and state of the program
Valiant effort in the second half (kind of), but too little, too late
Totally outcoached in the first half. I'm disappointed in Kwiatkowski.
State Penn has better athletes. I can't remember the timeline of the sanctions that Emmert never should have implemented, but did for political reasons, but it looks like they're past them. They aren't vastly better though.
I want to emphasize that Chris (I like to call coaches by their first names) has done a great job over the past two years. A playoff and a major bowl are big accomplishments. We've gone from a middling little Cactus Bowl, 7-5 team to a top 10 or 12 program and a yearly contender for the Pac 12.
There are still programs that are clearly better, and they're the bluebloods and Clemson. We still need depth. The thing that's concerning about the try hard three star guys who don't worship Satan and stay out of trouble is they're good enough to beat Cal, Arizona, and pretty much all 11 Pac 12 teams along with the four and five stars. They get rocked too much if we're really going to make a run at a NC. You can probably get away with it one year, but if you want to be up there at least in the hunt all the time, they can't be relied upon too much. Some are fine, too many won't work.
Pac 12 totally embarrassed itself. It's not time to panic, but that was not a good showing. Every conference has done it, especially the Big Ten. Also, the SEC is 1-3. It's early for them, because those faggot hillbillies get all the NY bowls, but I love how ESPN tip toes around it. Don't bash the Pac 12 and give them a huge pass. As always, fuck ESPN and fuck the SEC.
Also, Browning sucks, but I'm resigned to the fact he won't lose his job to Tony Eason, Haener, Yankoff, Sermon, or the bum whacking off down the street. It's just not going to happen unless he's injured. So one more damn year.

I love coach Pete, but I am a bit concerned about his emphasis on only recruiting OKGs that are from "good families" as he says over and over again.
What if a few of the best prospects, are from families that have issues? Is he going to just let them go to USC or UCLA instead?
Is he going to take a white, 6'1" LB that says his prayers before bed, over a 6'3" bruiser from east palo alto that hasn't seen his dad since he was 3 years old?
The guys that aren't from good families are guys that Don James would have brought into the program, because if you can knock a QB out of his shoes -- who cares if you say your prayers before bed.
Coach Pete led the Huskies to back to back NY 6 bowls in years 3 & 4. We also just had our best recruiting class in decades (ever?).
The future is bright, and it's a matter of when, not if, he wins a national championship. It's why he came here.
Just because the las Vegas bowl losing ducks are desperate to avoid the trash bin of history doesn't mean all the other teams suck ass. HTH.
I'm sure he'll figure out this championship thing before Pete tho. No question. You don't get fired from FIU unless it's part of a long-term college football playoff plan.
All that being said, Browning still sucks.
The natty is still far away.
