So either someone got pushed over the edge that day and bought it or Sark/someone else in the AD decided to register it. The Whois.com search for UW related sites all show University of Washington as the registrar and firesark.com is a private registration so no easy way I know of to figure out who the owner is but the fact that it got bought up is a good sign that at least someones concerned about it.
