Premium Content on Coaching Rumors

from our friends at some free football scoop site on the internets...

USC: Lovie Smith has interviewed for the Trojans' vacant head coaching position according to CBS' Jason LaCanfora. FootballScoop does not expect Lovie to come back to college. LaCanfora adds that Jon Gruden has no interest in the job and that Steve Sarkisian was considered a strong candidate but that might have waned given UW's three consecutive Pac-12 losses. Update> Lovie's son (and agent) Matt has come out publicly (again) refuting the report from CBS sports.

Sigh.

After Saturday, Sark will be able to point to his 2 most recent consecutive, impressive Pac-12 wins. In the end, it will come down to the result of the UCLA game

Wrong. I learned from Phleenor that DJ had 6-8 gimmies every year in a 10-11 game schedule.

It bears repeating: DJ *never* faced as cupcake a schedule as Seven is interning his way through this year.

It has already been reported here from our premium inside topdawg that Sark purposely went on that terrible 3 game skid because he couldn't turn down Haden but still has work to finish at UW.

USC is one of the top 5 college jobs in America. They literally could have any coach they want. And they fired their guy soon enough, so they can make the offer before Texas and/or Florida can make an offer.

I guar-an-fuckin-teeya Sark Daddy is not being considered.

And if for some reason he is ... then Hayden is a dumb fuck and might as well have kept Kiffen.

    YRYK

They wouldn't have hired Sark anyway, but they're certainly not going to fire Kiffin and replace him with the most similar coach to Kiffin in the entire coaching bidness.

Sark is not now nor has he ever been a candidate for the SC HC job.

I am reminded by your post that when UW's AD-in-training hired a head coach-in-training to replace Husky Football's all-time loser back at the end of the 2008 season, Woody's new hire as SC's then unknown offensive coordinator had unfinished work to complete coaching the Trojans in the Rose Bowl. The obvious fact that our 0-12 football program desperately needed an aggressive experienced new head coach to hit the ground running in hiring the best staff available and salvaging at least in part a disastrous recruiting class........ apparently could not be purchased with a $million starting salary.

With just one month remaining in his fifth season at Montlake, it should be evident by now that Sark will likely always have too much unfinished work at UW. Committed to finishing something another than another bullshit presser should be Sark's immediate goal, but by now I suppose most of us here are hoping that he simply focus on finding another job.

Unfortunately Sark won't get paid this much to not deliver anywhere in the universe. He's here til Woody is gone.
