I'm hearing that in Tennessee you can take a boat to get to the game. How cool is that?

Tony Franklin who is a Mumme/Leach disciple got a shot at a real SEC school and was fired after one year. I give Hal a pass because no one wins at Kentucky.

The same reason why Franklin's system which is more complicated than the actual Air Raid and the Air Raid won't work in the SEC is the same reason Wazzu hasn't been able to compete with UW the last few years, although that won't be the case next year.

The caliber of D-lineman in the SEC is the highest in the game. Bama, LSU, Florida, Auburn, Georgia, and Tennessee have some fucking dudes on the interior of their defense every year. Out of the Mississippi schools and SC one of those three will have a good/great D-line too.

They can put their best three guys on the line with one LB and completely stuff the running game. It's really hard to throw into 7 defenders. That one LB that stays home is an infinitely better athlete than the QB so even if he can escape the pocket he isn't going anywhere.

If your defense can cause 3 or 4 turnovers and force five or six punts the game is over. I would think Tennessee has people smart enough to know this.
