I want to win the AC. That’s all that matters. I could care less about a bowl game especially since it’s going to be a bowl that means nothing. Winning 9 games is great and all but the reality is the AC is gonna make or break our season for the next few years if Leach stays it doesn’t look like we’re winning it anytime soon. And I’ll admit I’m not ashmaed I’d rather have a mediocre team that could win the damn AC. It’s the most important game of the season no matter what excuse Leach makes. We all know it’s not just another game. Posted by Go_Cougs_ on Nov 25, 2017 | 9:57 PM
Lake is quite easily and quite honestly the best secondary coach we have ever had, where would he rank in the pantheon of overall Washington assistants in history? Top 10?

Assistants haven't always been held in such high esteem but here's a short list
Tippy Dye was Owen's enforcer. I don't think they did much coaching but Tippy always struck me as a cool name
Jim Mora not senior was James first DC. He became more famous for his NFL kick ass pressers but did seem highly regarded at the time.
Gilby with the O line is tops in my book but this Lake character is growing on me.
Need to keep them around as long as we can. I don’t really fear Kwat and Socha leaving but I feel with Lake it is only a matter of time. Kwat doesn’t seem like the HC type. He’s fine with making as much money as a lot of D1 coaches while focusing on only the defense. You don’t really see too many S&C guys changing teams.
Lake has that head coach type of charisma about him. You can only keep him as the assistant to the regional manager for so long.

Does Lambright lose the opportunity as the all-time greatest assistant because of the poor HC job?
He played at UW, coached for Owens, was hired by James, his James-era Ds were the backbone of the team, and he set the table for the 2000 Rose Bowl Team.
The whole program is a fucking embarrassment. From the quirky, annoying, unadaptable, unproductive coach. To the awful fan base. An offense that produces less than a weak pro style offense, with a speed d that strictly means "can't recruit appropriately sized d lineman and linebackers to save our ass". Fuck you Bolton.

Give the man another extension to quell speculation.
Oh wait that was this year...
FUCK!
I genuinely wonder if Barry Bolton writes the article he will release on Monday before the 2018 Apple Cup right now, or if it’s a last minute thing.
