Are you sure the plan was to go to overtime? After the GaskinS run I said out loud maybe SmithFS will try a play action for the win. Though SmithFS is full retard so it was probably Peterssons who made the call.

If the plan was to go to OT then Peterman should have been fired on the 50 yard line.

No posts in this thread even hinted that the plan was to go to OT - only that UW (DownSox) doesn't have it together for the final 22 seconds without the gift of a time out.

He played to get the ball back. Hind sight, bad call. 2nd down 23 seconds left. He's planning on two pass plays, 12 seconds off the clock and you're punting. We have a kicker who who is 4/4 on +50 yard field goals.

We know why he did it but he didn't seem to take into consideration the odds of either outcome.

Okay, the Utes get the ball back at their own 10 or 20 with maybe two plays left. The chance of getting into field goal range are maybe 1/10 of that of UW getting into FG range (UW is a LOT closer and has at least twice as much time on the clock).

I like the chances of Utah settling for a FG battle in OT which likely requires multiple makes by TV versus one fluke which ends the game.

Again. Thank you Whittingham. UW does not win this in regulation without your Bellotti sized boner.


The bottom line is EVERY ONE WITH HALF A FUCKING BRAIN DIDN'T need hindsight to know it was stupid.
