It starts and ends with talent evaluation and recruiting.

Hercules Mata’afa wasn’t even offered a scholarship to Washington even though he showed early interest.

This is lazy and bullshit analysis. Hercules was a borderline 2 star/ 3 star prospect whose other offers were the Beavers and New Mexico State. If we would have offered that guy, people on this bored would be losing their shit.
Who cares? Obviously the guy could play. Don't think
the coaching staff worries about what wannabes on here think.

You seem to care an awful lot what Kim and crew think of high school boys and how fans might feel about stars.

    Peterman obviously, missed.

This is maybe the most disappointing part of this team. We have no ability to generate big plays on defense because of 2 reasons.

    1. We don't take chances

    2. We're slow. Yes having guys like Vea and Gaines is fantastic. Most of the time we are stonewalling them. And it means nothing because our lb aren't shooting gaps and making plays in he backfield. Taylor Rapp who's a safety is the only one who has that ability.

Credit to Stanford for playing a mostly clean game. No drops. Costello was accurate. No penalties / none were called (their rt was false starting every play).

The reason why teams like wsu do nnothing against us is because we are uniquely built to beat teams that make mistakes. Wsu will do the same this year turning the ball over and committing penalties. We have no ability to dictate the game. We don't force turnovers. We don't give the offense great field position. We don't get after the quarterback.

There's a lot of work to do on offense but there is still work to do on defense as well

What the everloving fucking bullshit is this? There are 120 teams that trade their D for UWs. Of all the stupid Jake Browning things to complain about, you pick the D?

With great praise comes great responsibility.
Step up or step off. They shit the bed twice this year
when it counted. Facts are facts even though
sometimes unpleasant. NO ONE gets off from
    those two turdfests.

    I believe I have achieved a haiku.

One thing i found funny last night were the people in the game thread crying because Shaw was yelling at the officials all night. "Shut up Shaw!" "ShawFS" "that wasn't a penalty shaw! Quit crying"

I wish Petersen would get after the officials like that. If you can dictate the calls they make, you do it. Standing on the sideline with a scowl on your face doesn't scare anyone but the pussies on your team

So you want a "they were stemming" and "refs can't feel the emotion on the field" response now?

The defense had their worst game in about 24 months. This is true. Also true, it took 24 months for them to shit the bed.

    I have no other answers.

    4th in overall defense
    257 yds allowed per game
    3rd in scoring defense
    13 points allowed per game

    + 6 in turnover margin (24th)
    16 turnovers forced (32nd)

16th in sacks at 2.9 per game....

They had a shaky qtr., maybe 2.

Issues are qb, receivers, kickers (more psychological than anything else imo), o line to a small extent, and idiotic o.c. Defense is fine. Fair point about creating more turnovers. It would help, but if the areas I just highlighted pulled their weight, this thread doesn't exist.

no no no you don't get it

the D has to be perfect every game (while the O flings its own poo around)

let's keep bashing the defense. yeah that makes sense
