Point Per Game - 17.7 #8 Nationally

That's a lot more than "marginally" better. 2016 Dwags with Marriotta level QB play (i.e., elite) would have stood a realistic chance of knocking off Bamma or Climpson. 2014 Ducks with 2016 Husky level defense could have realistically won a Natty.

We're talking about the 2016 team here. 2017 is only giving up 12.1 per game including when the Offense is playing Defense on the same play.

The evidence shows that the 2016 UW Defense was significantly better than 2014 Oregon D. Amazing what you can do with a Heisman trophy winner at QB.
