It's a fucking Canadian company, and uranium is nothing special. There really is nothing to this story.salemcoog said:
I’m assuming it was a tit for tat thing. What did the US gain in this deal? Appeasement to Putin to slow his roll in the Ukraine? Less Russian support of the bad guys in Syria?BearsWiin said:You really don't understnad how this shit works, do you

So you’re buying the WaPos cover that WJC never visited Putin and the half mill to the foundation didn’t help Russia win favor from the Obama admin for the approval of the deal. And of course that State had no knowledge of the FBI investigation already ongoing into Bribery by the Russians of the contracted trucking company? Or there’s somehow no culpability to anyone involved because U1 is a Canadian company?BearsWiin said:

Take a look at worldwide uranium production. Take a look at how much the US bothers to mine these days, since A) we (and the Russians) have too much already, and B ) American uranium mines are unprofitable compared to other countries. Several different agencies signed off on the sale of a Canadian company that happens to own mining rights to unprofitable uranium deposits in the US. No evidence of money affecting decisionmaking. The only interesting question here is why the Russians seemed to want this as badly as they did. That's an intelligence question, though, not a partisan one.
You may want to take a look at the 25-year history of our working with the Russians on strategic/nuclear materials, then ask yourself why the fuck you think this is in any way worth yammering about, other than you can't get over your irrational hatred for a career public servant who happens to wear pants suits. -
While we may have all the Uranium that we need. There’s other aspiring nuke nations out there that certainly want it. It’s a big deal because of the country who has custody of it may not have our best interests at heart. And it’s a big deal due to who was involved to influence the green light.BearsWiin said:

If it's that big of a deal. Why isn't Congress investigating it?salemcoog said:
