My worry is this comes back to Washington. After Romar was fired my friend had a "source" that thought Romar's firing was related to either Michael Porter Sr. accepting the Missouri job or UW getting wind that Fultz was signed by funneling Nike money (he signed with Nike) to him via Chillious. Those were completely different scenarios so I never thought anything of it, but it causes some worry now since I heard this 5-6 months ago and all of this is now coming out.
Romar was in on some big recruits that he didn't have any business being in on with how they performed. Immanuel Quickley was another major recruit (just verballed to Kentucky) from the East Coast that was very high on UW when Romar was here. All this could be nothing, but there will definitely be more names, schools, etc coming out in the coming weeks and months.
BUMP
My friend's "source" did specifically mention Chillious, who was the lead recruiter for Fultz the entire time and it makes sense. Chillious had East coast ties. He's from Maryland originally, He coached in Maryland as a prep school coach from 2001-2002, coached HS in Connecticut from 2003-2008, he coached at Villanova for a year from 2012-2013 between UW stints, and also had the connection with Nike since he worked as a business manager for Nike's EYBL in Oregon prior to coming to UW the first time. He was also in on other East coast kids like I mentioned in Quickley, who had no business mentioning UW as one of his top choices before Romar was fired.
That being said, Romar would have known what was going on. Just probably wasn't dumb enough to give him the cash himself. All coaches should have a fall guy. All these Kentucky kids are getting cash, but Calipari isn't dumb enough to hand it over himself. Even Sark had Tosh deliver the coffee cups and he was drunk his entire time at UW.
Markelle Fultz, who would go on to play at Washington and become the No. 1 pick in the 2017 draft, received $10,000 according to the documents. He did not sign with ASM.
I know this isn't an original thought, but i'm still shocked that the amount is incredibly low. Most of the rumors most hear are 10's if not 100's of thousands for top 10 recruits and UW "allegedly" bought off fultz for $10k? Some of this shit seems incredibly boring that this is the best the FBI has.
I actually came away thinking NCAA Basketball is cleaner than I assumed if this is the ultimate charges or evidence.

When kids stayed for 3-4 years, the cost was around $300k, but sense most of these kids are "one and done" it completely devalued their cost, since they only have to wait a year to cash in on a NBA contract.

The allegation doesn't involve UW buying Fultz, rather Fultz being paid to give a "handshake" agreement to sign with ASM once he went pro. Then he ended up not even signing with them, so maybe IAM Sports gave him an even sweeter deal.
None of this necessarily alleges that UW did anything wrong, but I would be shocked if Romar's staff weren't getting dirty as it was. Shit, we may have still bought off Fultz with a totally separate arrangement, but we're at least not dumb enough to keep a ledger around with his name on it.

The uproar from the local hoops community (HS/AAU) was fairly substantial when Romar was fired ... I wonder why???
