It's the first result when searching "percentage of Americans that know the lyrics to the national anthem".
Of Americans that claim to know the lyrics only 39% know what follows the line "whose broad stripes and bright stars".
HOW DARE THESE FOOTBALL PLAYERS DISRESPECT THIS SONG THAT WE DONT KNOW THE WORDS TO!!!

While I do know the entire first verse of the national anthem (yes, there are multiple verses), I must confess I don't have the entire UW fight song memorized. People are prone to forget things, especially if you don't have frequent repetition. I don't think most school children really sing it anymore. -
