^ and all joking around aside, it really is too bad and I feel badly for him. He's a great kid who comes from a great family. The L's are universally liked by pretty much anyone who comes into contact with them. With all of the physical talent, it's too bad that Better coaching wasn't invested in him.

My souorces say he wasn't that smart, nor was he a hard worker.
My sources say different. He had a problem with accuracy, no doubt due on part to being the entire team on shitty MI team and doing 90% of the work with his feet. I don't think it was a work ethic issue. He wanted the job badly. Injuries also factored in.

I think he graduated from Foster with 3.5 or better. UW is not super hard to get into, but is not an easy place at which to nail a high GPA.
You can 3.4 Foster without trying. He's not retarded but he's a spoiled kid from MI. Stanford doesn't give a shit that you're from MI.

If you get anything less than a 4.0 in high school you're an idiot.

I got a b my last semester in an online computer science makeup class.
    I am an idiot.

    Seriously Clark?

Axe the Suede about falling for the "stay home and be a hero; you'll make your $ in the NFL" line if bullshit. Axe him what he thinks about that decision.
He interned at PwC and should be starting around 115k. Not the best example. He also won't have to explain to people the rest of his life that he is a Stanford jock and not a 0.0001% genius savant with his Harbaugh-sanctioned Science, Technology, and Society degree from Stanford, of which 81% of student-athletes are funneled into.

Apparently you don't know a lot about his background. The Swede is LOADED. The $, and 115, ain't the issue. Those are the goals of the petty bourgeoisie. The Swede is from MI and all that implies. Academic pedigree counts a lot in that crowd. UW and Stanford are not in the same category.

Trust me (or not - I don't care): the swede would have much rather watched his career go off the rails in Palo than in Montlake. Has nothing to do with how much dough he'll make.

Bro went to Furd; sis is at Dartmouth. Only winning big as a starter would have made UW the right choice. Gambled and lost. It happens.

Look, I know I've had a bad run here lately. Race has been WTF'ing the shit out if me. But once in a while the creep has shit dialed in. This is one of those times. Best you let this one go.

    uhh lol

from "stay home and be a hero; you'll make your $ in the NFL = bullshit" to the petty bourgeois and one's personal branding amongst the mercer island elite. ok man you won gg

Simple bro: his family has money and is very plugged into Seattle $$ circles. I know this first hand.

He was never in danger of becoming an Ewadawg and cutting surfboards the rest of his life. He's a smart kid and would do well no matter. The only thing left to chase was prestige.

Holding constant for the career going off the rails at both places (because if it turns out better at one then it's duh and we're not talking), there is no question where he'd rather have ended up. Again, prestige.

I lived on MI and work and socialize with many who still do. What I said is a thing; not personal branding. Not at all. Anyone who doesn't know that simply isn't familiar with the island and its culture.

He chose UWfor two reasons; the offensive coordinator who recruited him, and a belief that then existed that Sark was some kind of a quarterback grooming guru. Everyone knows the kid has an NFL arm and body; the only thing left to do was play in the Right system under the tutelage of the right coaches so he could get to the next level. Unfortunately for him, none of that happened.

So, which assertion has you rolling on the ground in hysterics? That absent a better fb situation a kid, especially a kid from MI, will choose Stanford over UW? Or that his fb situation didn't turn out to be what he had hoped? Or is it my characterization of MI society?

His Dad is a Harvard MBA. His sister plays VB at Dartmouth, and his brother played BB at Stanford. Do these seem like people who don't care about where you go to school?

And Grundle is correct: first years don't make 115 right out of school at the big 4, even on the advisory side of the business. but like I said, starting salary is not a critical issue for this kid.

I'm still not sure what point creepy is making, but my heart weeps for poor Lindquist who, despite having the tutelage of one of the greatest college coaches ever, could not beat out cyler miles.

    For shame.

I'm not sure what you're not sure about. What I said is pretty clear. Lindy's run at Washington surely wasn't what he'd hoped, and if he'd known he'd be a backup/special teams guy he likely goes to Furd. just from general preference rate stats, it's not even close.

edit 65k for a tax auditor is ridiculously low for those hours they put in.

Working in audit or fucking tax is fucking miserable.
