New year. New attitude. UW got their taste of playoff football last season and they're back for more against an upstart Rutgers team laying in wait. Rutgers plays the Dawgs tough, until UW pulls away in the 4th quarter. Here's why
1. Jack Cobra Browning - He is the best player on the field, enough said on that. He has two full seasons under his belt and lived in the film room breaking down defenses. He will do everything possible to win the game.
2. Offensive Line - They average a weight of 332 lbs across the line, they are ready to dominate the line of scrimmage. Adams, Garcia, Center, Eldrenkamp, Bulyca, McGary, Ossai etc. These boys have attitude and are ready to rumble.
3. Kawasaki - New Defensive Scheme and a new attitude. Every player has spoke out about the difference between the 2016 Kawasaki and the 2017 Kawasaki, we will see a much improved defense on Friday.
4. Speed, Speed, Speed - This is the fastest UW team has been in a long time. Charlie McClutchens, Dante Pettis, Salvon Ahlmed, Psalm Wooching, Byron Murphy, Justin Chin, Jake Haener, Gaines, Virta Vea, Ossai etc. The newbies will be inexperienced but will bring something that they haven't had in past seasons, speed.
5. Time of Possession - I think UW can dominate the time of possession stat. The more they can shorten the game and keep their defense off of the field, the better chance they have to win the game.
It's close through 3 but in the 4th quarter, I think UW wins rather easily, say 34-17?

The part that gets me every time is "he will do everything possible to win the game" as that somehow affects anything.
Enough said on that.
"If we get the right atmosphere, you never know what's going to happen. Lots of first time visiting teams for whatever reason get surprised, win or lose. Look at the history...
2014: Lost to Penn State by 3, Beat Michigan by 2 (both night home games)
2015: (Also first time RU home night games for visitors) Scared Michigan State only losing by 7, Even against Ohio State we had a good first quarter and acceptable half (Federico took the early energy out of the stadium when he missed the ~30ish yard FG on the opening drive, but we stripped Elliot on the next drive, trying to maintain some hope/energy)
2016: (Sort of, given it was one of the dreadful noon games of many last year) Almost beat Iowa losing by one TD after Grant went down.
Long story short, if we bring the energy, it'll be a fun night, win or lose. So either support the team loud and proud or stay home you pessimistic Debby Downers!!! Lol."
Hi J!
Plenty of Cold Rainier Beer, Tequilla, and Makers Mark. Hot chocolate if the temperature drops.
We'll also have plenty of ribs courtesy of Ribs-N-Rickshaw.
Should be a great game!
