Welcome to the Hardcore Husky Forums. Folks who are well-known in Cyberland and not that dumb.
Dude gets hired, looks like a complete doofus, and then in short order lands:
Mele (major get)
Curne (big get)
Ale (chip shot but still cool)
Kalepo (HUGE get)
I'm actually pretty damn impressed with his recruiting. And he's got great taste in music, but he's white. So I'm conflicted.

I live a miserable and pathetic life. But back to Metallihuff.
Dude was hired March 1st. So he's been a Dawg for five and a half months. In those five and a half months he's gotten four commits as you noted. Which is basically what Lubick has been responsible for (Spiker, Lowe, Culp, Yankoff). And while Lubick's gets are bigger names, Bush did the hard work for Spiker and Lubick basically just had to tap in, and the other three he already had relationship with from his time at Oregon.
Huff likely didn't know most of these kids when he arrived, maybe not any of them. He almost certainly didn't know Curne (distance) or Kalepo (age). He probably didn't know Mele as he hasn't even been an OL prospect for long. He probably knew Ale but I doubt they were close.
Getting one whole class and an elite start to the next one is fantastic, but when you consider all four commits had to go from zero or close to zero with Huff this fast it's kind of amazing, especially Mele and Curne. But getting Kalepo to shut it down this early is very impressive as well.
I know Coke and DDY think we just take an in state OL class in 2019, and I like Elder and Davidson as well. But if I'm Pete I'm having Huff shoot for the best kids on the West Coast at first and see what he can do. He can clearly close good to very good kids from out of state. I'd find out how good of a recruiter he really is.

Either way, before I read that story on him I thought his film was DDY 3 level.
In short, either way it'll be interesting.
Also, no tards.
where recruiting to a top ten team trending up, how will
it ever get easier? He needs a win quickly.(Tremblay)
