For the good old boys drinking whiskey and rye
Chinteresting piece on Midwest Grain Products in IN which distills most of the craft rye whiskies you see on the shelves today. I've been aware of this for a few years, but found this guy to have a good take on the issue. I don't care personally so long as it tastes good and Bulleit Rye, High West, etc, are pretty tasty.

Toured Nelson's Green Brier Distillery earlier this year. Very interesting story behind the distillery. http://www.greenbrierdistillery.com/nelsonsgreenbrierhistory/
While getting their own operation up and running, they reached out to some master distillers and MGP to produce their signature product, Belle Meade Bourbon, a proprietary whiskey they made in the late 1800's for the Belle Meade Plantation, a horse racing stable at the time. https://enjoybellemeadebourbon.com/history/ .. Double gold medal swill, it's tasty in my opinion, but at a price point where there is a lot of competition.
Washington State is starting to get some traction in this area too. I've toured a few distilleries around Puget Sound. Some good, some need to keep working at it, but it's great to see small batch distillers making a go of it.
Cheers!
