Played at UTEP for one year and then a year at a JC. Now he has offers from a bunch of schools including Bama. If I remember correctly the knock on this kid was that he wasn't a hard worker and was kind of soft.
I think there was a linebacker prospect that had the same last name from lakes. This guy at kentwood everyone knew should be good but also knew he never had his shit together so no real colleges pursued him. Not sure if he has his shit together now or not, but to be given athletic advantantges like that and not even have schools like wazzu or oregon st figure out how to get you in and make you useful speaks volumes. Hopefully he gets it together.
I know a little bit about these kids through my old coaching days. The first kid was a middle school 5-star due to the fact that he was a full grow man in 6th grade. Parents moved him around to a bunch of different high schools but he never lived up to the hype. Ended up at Eastern but I don't know if he did anything there.
The youngest kid followed a similar path. Middle school 5-star, parents moved him around to a bunch of different high schools. Everything I heard is that he was soft. Maybe things finally clicked at JC.
