Also, does anyone else hate their running onto the field with the Stars and Stripes shtick? I mean do they think they love 'Merica more than other Universities?

There's no mutual exclusivity here Boobs. I can hate those helmets AND the Trees running onto the field with the Flag. And furthermore, our wearing of said shitty helmets never happened every game and has been on a steep decline with the new coaching regime. Hopefully, the concept will die off entirely after the SC debacle of last year.

I don't know - it just comes across to me as overkill...like they are trying to show that they care more than everyone else...but that's just my two cents. When both team and fans stand and sing the national anthem together our collective patriotism is on display and that should be enough.

What's wrong with it?
It's mindless, kitschy patriotism.
I have no problem with the small American flag on a helmet or something that doesn't stick out like a monster truck at Shane's place on Capitol Hill.
