Welcome to the Hardcore Husky Forums. Folks who are well-known in Cyberland and not that dumb.
We all know he couldn't recruit and that's the reason he's gone, but re-watched the Utah/WSU/CU games on Pac-12 Net and yes Gaskin and Shelton are war daddies, our blocking tight end are assassins, who give defenses mismatches they don't know how to line up against, giving us schematic advantages.
But to his credit we got some shit blocked up front really well last year. I'd forgotten how many times there were huge holes for our rb's to run through.
So the great news: We return 4 of 5 starters, with two tackles who might both go in the first round of the draft.
The bad news: Jonathan Smith still has 1-2 series per game where his hard on to throw it (generally in the red zone after we've spend the majority of the drive running it down their throat) takes points and momentum away from us.
This will be the most interesting thing this fall for me. Does Smith still want to stay aggressive with the pass/run ratio, or does he take 6-10 throws away from Jake this year, and trust his OL and RB's to punish and eventually wear down defenses until they capitulate like the buffs did in the Pac-12 Champ game?

He needs to take 6-10 throws away from Jake and give the carries straight to Coleman with Jake lined up under center or I formation, two white tight ends and Linius and Hunter as receiver
