Naval ROTC screwed the pooch on the this one IMO by not bringing in Rondeau for their events.PurpleThrobber said:

Getting to hear Rondeau's legendary voice say your name and where you're from just once is good stuff.

Don't take this as a "well, you're wrong" type of post, but there's a lot that raised some flags to me ...jecornel said:Sandy is a d bag. He has burned bridges locally. If kjr fires you that speaks volumes
CBS .....canned
I did a post game show with him after the Stanford game when Curtis broke his neck and he threw a fit like a little baby because he was only supposed to do the show solo. Then he took the recording trashed it. Classy guy.
He was also at times a prick rondeau. Rondeau classy hard working individual. The guy is a total pro.
1) In any interaction that I've had with Sandy he's never come across as a dbag and my tickets used to be adjacent to a family member of his ... both come across (at least to me) as having high energy and a bit eccentric ... I could see that rubbing some people the wrong way.
2) What I heard at KJR was that he was a budget cut ... he wasn't the first guy that worked with Mitch that suffered that fate ... Fish was also a casualty. I tend to think that working well with Mitch requires knowing your place and not having a big personality. Dick Fain is the perfect co-host for him because Fain really doesn't offer a lot of strong opinions or personality. Sandy doesn't have a problem giving a needle and while Mitch also doesn't shy away from giving the needle, he is well established for not being able to take one very well.
3) Sandy was the only local show on CBS amongst a bunch of national shows ... he was cut amongst a series of other national cuts that CBS made on a single day covering way more stations than just Seattle. It was a tough gig that he was handed being on a network that was a distant 3rd in the local market. Personally, I thought his show (and later after that his podcast) were generally good (even though he was with the massive dbag known as Jason Churchill).
4) The only thing that I'll say about your 2000 postgame story was that holding an interaction with somebody 16-17 years ago as evidence of how that person is today could be a stretch. Regarding his treatment of Rondeau, his tweet following the news announcing Rondeau's pending retirement painted a different story.
Again, not saying that you're wrong or not entitled to your opinion particularly given that you've had I'm sure many more in-person interactions with him. But my general experience is that the truth is largely in the middle.

He likely will not ...DerekJohnson said:
But to say not on Cohen's watch is interesting ... considering that he is part of the UW broadcasting team in women's basketball and baseball as well as men's basketball as the #2 voice during conflicts with football. If Cohen was so anti-Sandy I'd think that she'd find a way to kick him to the curb fairly quickly given that there likely isn't a substantial contract that he's under. -
Yeah kjr fired Sandmeyer and made Dick Fain his replacement. Lol, draw your own conclusions there.jecornel said:Sandy is a d bag. He has burned bridges locally. If kjr fires you that speaks volumes

2-3 times I've met sandmeyer he was a cool ass dude. Would fit in here. Should he be the UW play by play? No, but you sound pretty butt hurt about your encounter with him -
