Tennessee used to actively recruit for football and track
Offhand I can think of both Terry McDaniel and Willie Gault who were great in track and football in college, and had long high level NFL careers
There's been local grumblings UT was Wide Receiver U when they recruited dual athletes, and they need to do it again - it's not uncommon in the SEC, though it's usually sprinters more than jumpers
May not be a bad thing for UW

Converting track guys to football rarely seems to work out. See, e.g., Hooker, JaWarren; Kasim, Marvin; Sampson, Shelton.
But when a football guy is able to just show up and immediately contribute on the track team, that's usually an indication of NFL talent. -
I was expecting a Grundle tweet.
