    So since nearly 50% receive some sort of government assistance already 14% wants free shit they haven't gotten yet?

    Doctors should work on a commission basis -patient signs an agreement whereby x% of their future earnings gets assigned to the surgeon/hospital.

    They sure as fuck wouldn't be doing life-prolonging surgeries on some 80 year old.

    Nothing really changes until there's a public option. It's the only effective counter-balance to wrestle power from Big Insurance. Of course, the power then goes to Big Government, but at least the profit motive is gone, and all you have to deal with is bureaucratic inertia, which the private sector health insurance companies already have plenty of.
