Enticing the GOP to go nuclear just gave the GOP a "golden ticket" for the next nominee. It seems like the democrats are hedging their bet that Ginsburg is alive in 3 1/2 years. Considering she's 84, I'm thinking the law of averages will probably hit her sooner than that. The GOP in essence will control the supreme court for the next 20 years.
This a great point. I think both sides are gambling on this. If she goes the year before the next presidential election the democrats would have actually been in a great position with the filibuster and it would have been a really bad look right before an election for republicans to get rid of it then. Maybe they are playing chess.
the democrats could also take back the senate in 2018 even with the map as it is.
McConnell can DIAFF. I don't think anyone on either side would miss him.
Both sides have been acting like children since at least 2013. No real surprise we've ended up where we are.
Not sure how I feel about the death of the filibuster anyway. Seems like axing our senators to make 15 1/2 hour speeches to drag things out just wastes everyone's damn time.
Until the two party system falls apart this shit's only going to get worse.

trump's 35% approval is not going up anytime soon
I'm embarrassed to ask this but, what does an approval rating mean? Is it just a popularity vote? What would a 10% approval rating mean, the president is getting fired? Does it mean anything at all?

It's time for direct, non-partisan elections to the bench.

Do you never learn???
Yes, 100. More than half of the total number in history
First guy selected by GOP, nuke it.
Great false equivalency as always
Pull him, put up another insanely far right judge and the democrats cower for sure.
They'll regret this in a few years
