When I was a kid Notre Dame was Notre Dame and Ara Parsimian was coach and Frank Leahy and Knute Rockne were still part of the national consciousness. You could understand the national recruiting pull.

Their last Natonal Championship was 1988. A kid born in 1999 like Lamb only knows them for getting skull fucked by Bama and losing a lot of games. Charlie Weiss and the rest.

Given the alternatives, that's probably the best choice for us. ND is the most likely of his top options to self destruct this year and have a couch sale at HC that would cause him to reconsider. UCLA is highly likely for that as well, but a) kids are more likely to stick with the hometown school through a coaching transition than a school across the country b) ND cares a lot more about football than UCLA does and it's far easier to imagine UCLA having a shit season but still keeping Mora than it is with ND and Kelly.

He obviously doesn't want to go to Penn State or he'd be picking them now.

I wouldn't be shocked if Lamb resurfaces on the market late in the game. UCLA would have to be the favorite at that point, but another dominant UW season and shit UCLA season could tip the scales in our favor. Unlikely, but not impossible.
