Free press is essential to a free society, but lets not kid ourselves. The press has devolved into little more than a propaganda tool for left on one side and the right on the other. As we saw in the run up to the election and during Hussein Osama's dictatorship, it is heavily biased toward the left. When cocksuckers like Jeff Bezos are allowed to control the news, you can't expect to get the real truth. Long story short, although the press is really not free and only slightly more honest than the Pyongyang Times, it's better than the shit you might find in Vlad's Russia.

McCain is suggesting Trump is trying to suppress the press and this is how dictators get started.
Ramblings of a senile fool.
How do you describe what Trump is doing?
Trump is calling out the press for their bullshit.
The press is allowed to have bullshit and every President ever has had issues with the fourth estate. It's part of the deal. It is absolutely inappropriate for the elected president of a free democratic society to so much as question the propriety of an independent ... and yes even highly critical ... press.

Dis a fucking gree.
The press stopped being independent years ago.
Trump calling bullshit is fine. Let them argue it out. They both lie.
Perhaps out of all this a return to journalistic standards will result. But they are just as much at fault as Trump for defending their own lies and bias.

Answer: Fighting a losing battle against the press. In the short term, it will drain the swamp of some wimpy bandwagon clique-driven shitty reporters and publications, because they just plagiarism other peoples shit fucko. In the long term, better, more professional reporters and writers will ascend after the first few 100 day circuses wind down.
Sometimes you have to burn the village to save it. This is one of those times.
How does criticism abridge the freedom of the press?
Can one of you stop crying long enough to attempt an answer? TIA
Probably because the President's criticism holds the weight of the administrative branch of the federal government; it's not like you complaining about how fucked up the MSM; it's the president. He can do shit; you can't.

Reality is, I don't think Trump is a dictator or able to go down that path. His issue is he can't stand criticism, he's the type of leader who has to be surrounded by yes men. So he's changed the press room by adding none traditional media sources and if it were up to him, only friendly journalists would be in the room.
But it can also abridge the freedom of the press in a perception way. The history of dictatorships is getting the public distrust in the media. Like I said, I don't think Trump can accomplish that in our setting or even wants to. But that is how it could get accomplished.
So you're not saying he's a dictator, just pushing a narrative that he could be someday? Sounds an awful lot like fear mongering. Trump doesn't need to get people to distrust the media. They already do. He's just pointing out the obvious. Thanks Trumpbag.

So you've got nothing. Just lies and fear tactics. That's what I thought.
So that was a pretty shitty attempt to answer. Sounds like you girls are living in fear. As usual
The President doesn't leave his First Amendment rights at the door of the Oval Office. If you are seriously trying to argue that he could intimidate the press in any way you need to light yourself on fire.
He can say whatever the fuck he wants about the media. We? are all thinking worse about them.
