Ale is likely at the proper weight ... that weight though needs to be a bit shifted around a bit. I'm sure his legs are quite strong but they can definitely get a little leaner and add strength while likely losing a little bit of the sloppy weight there. It'll help with his mobility and quickness.
You don’t “shift” weight that’s now how your body genetically works. He can lower his body fat percentage but he isn’t going to be moving weight from his legs to his arms or where the fuck ever.

The point being that he can do some work on his lower body where he maintains the strength that I'm sure he has there (and likely improves it) but shaves off some of the excess bulk that he has there (and he does have that).
Likewise, I fully expect that he'll be on an upper body program (including his core) where he'll gain strength while also redefining his body.
All told, I would expect that by the time he's in a position to be playing in the program that he'll be holding roughly the same weight (if not a little less) but will be substantially stronger.

He's a HS kid ... his body is far from perfect from an athletic standpoint.
I totally get that he's a big boned guy that is always going to hold weight and likely hold it well. But when I look at that picture, he's definitely got some room for improvement in his legs.
You should also read everything versus cherry picking the words you want to use. Citing "maintain" while also not recognizing that I also included that he will "likely improve" is misleading at best and indicative of bias plus being a fucktard as status quo.
Someone is cranky tonight. He is not going to lift any different than any of the big guys. The best excercises for his core stregnth will all be lower body compound movements which is the staple of Sochas's training. Deads/Squats/Cleans. He will lean out his legs a bit naturally from those excercises as well as his body composition changes. Doing a bunch of arms and core focused shit isn't going to shrink the fat off his legs any differently than lower body workouts. Shifting weight is something that doesn't happen, you can't target fat.
