Both ken Mellman and Michael Steele have acknowledged and apologized that the Republicans basically appealed to southern racists as a part of their election strategy. Nixon aides have admitted that his drug war was racially motivated. Democrats like bill clinton have been complicit and I think was a level of racism that came with his support of tough on crime laws, but there isn't really a comparison.

There's freedom of speech, on which I generally agree with you, and then there's the right of individuals to express that certain speech is unacceptable. The Constitution speaks to gov't action, not that by individuals. Just like our own Stalin (Allah's praise be upon him) has a weird thing about sandwich porn that I find inexplicable. If the cops found the guy who sucker-punched the Nazi and charged him with assault, I'm okay with that too.
