Some wise word's Mad_Son. This site would have longevity IF.DawgFader said:Please don't shit where I eat.
I've only been here a minute but it's clear this site is an internet gem. Seems like if your doing more than reading a thread grab an oar and add to general direction.
If not, head over to douchecanoe and bust your nut. There's plenty of conspiracy theory, alternate facts and non thread related content over there.
I love the tavern.
I respect most of Tsier's/Mohun's and Race's humorous posts here on this site, but the 3-4 Beavises copying everything they do is pathetic. You guys copying them don't have the brains to be original or creative like them.
I would much rather long-term hear Tailgater's legit, long, angry rants than an anally-expulsive repeat of Race's or Tsier's jokes from one the Beavises.
I've always appreciated Tailgater's views and rants, I hope he continues with them.
Peace out, negas. -
Don't disagree with anything Swaye said but for me the real frustration stems that I think this site really could overtake Dawgman and be a legitimate voice of Husky Football or at least something where the Athletic Department could go to get a real pulse of what smart and demanding fans think of the program. Because Dawgman really is a disaster, I have not been to the message board over there in months and don't care. It is worthless info for the most part. The only thing enjoyable to me is the summaries of what Fleenor actually writes and most of the time that has nothing to do with football.WeakarmCobra said:Damn, GrundleStiltzkin lengths of replies would make @Tequilla proud.
Like it or not the extreme profanity and tails (See what I did there) of banging co-eds, gifs etc... make the site more dismissive to outside observers despite the intelligence of the football posts here.
It's Derek's site and it would be a lot to ask and very time demanding for someone to moderate all of this and I respect that. I find it worth it to come and filter through all of the Internet Tough Guy fights, barely legal photos and all else to get my husky fix and premium content. But for people that are offended by that type of stuff you are exactly right, this place is not for them. The frustrating part is this is where the most intelligent conversations about husky football take place but it is too extreme to be main stream.
Just my thoughts. -
To be honest a lot of you really haven't explored the internet if you think this place is bad. Go give 4chan a whirl and you will come back thinking this place is Sesame Street.PurpleJ said:You cock-eaters REALLY go too far. I read your posts to friends of mine in Portland and they think you are disgusting pigs and not very nice. ....I AGREE.
I told them you are huskie fans and that makes you assholes by association and, hence, can't help yourselves. The lot of you need to get your minds out of the gutter. I am sick and tired of making excuses for you. Fuck.

The fact is nearly every poster on this site is a huge dickbag. If a person can't take an insult or seven every time they post, it's probably not a great place for them. I just keep posting whatever the fuck I want and occasionally I get some useful conversations.

Interesting pov. The issue is, I am not sure this site isn't already the legitimate voice of Husky Football. I mean, ultimately DJ will determine where this goes, as it is his site. But, look at the content here. MUCH better than anything Roof or the tard crew at Doogfarm ever puts together.tvoie said:The fact is nearly every poster on this site is a huge dickbag. Also, I am pretty sure the AD SHOULD be tuning into this site. DJ will never say how many active (once a week types) posters and lurkers we have here, but it is a ton. Sure, 10 or so dominate the conversation, but I bet you ten times that many read it all the time (HI KIM). And, perhaps most importantly, why would the AD need to monitor a site like Doogfarm? It's a rainbow circle jerk Sark is great unicorn fart land over there.
However, here, you have people like me, who used to give thousands per year to the AD, and have not gone to one game, bought one shirt, or sent one dime in donation to the AD since 2007. And look, I am not some big wallet type at all, but I still used to contribute, as much as I could afford, because Husky Football was SUPER important to me. I am not the only one here who used to contribute and no longer does. The AD should be all over this site, because it IS the target audience they are trying to woo back - Scott, if you are reading this, knock off the in game theatrics, light whoever started the Crazy larry ad campaign on fire, and get a real coaching staff, and I will begin sending my steady stream of donations again.
You are correct, the over the top nature of this site will deter a segment of the fanbase. However, sometimes mockery is the best medicine, and this stuff needs to be said. Other than Softy's FB page, and the Times comments section, where can you go to see the people who are sick and fuckign tired of losing or being mediocre? Well, here. So, if you are here, then take the good with the bad, contribute or lurk, but realize this won't be happy unicorn land until we start winning, and I will not stop posting picture of hot chicks with tats until I can replace those with a real Coach hoisting a Rose Bowl trophy. -
Well said man. In all seriousness, the honesty in assessing the current direction of the program and the locker room mentality is what keeps me posting. (Insert gay joke here)GrundleStiltzkin said:

this message board is a lot more watered down from the other HHB-type boards in recent years. On those boards the posters got hazed for a few days.tvoie said:

Part of the problem comes down to fans having deep cynicism due to stupid decisions like hiring Coach Willingham. It all stems from the 'half brain' characterization.
some tips.... don't ever get pissed of or let a poster rattle you.... don't produced arguments of tortured ratiocination, deeply reasoned football posts are bullshit. Even half reasoned logic is usually a waste of time. Football posts show every conceivable logical fallacy and should be studied by logicians who could find new ones. -
A simple "fuck you" goes a long way in my opinion.

Why does this board have to be so binary?
