I thought the idea of Roy being the head coach was retarded, but it's really only slightly retarded considering UW still employs Romar as the head coach. Ideally, he would pay his dues.

Jason Kidd and Derek Fisher became NBA coaches out of retirement. Luke Walton had coached for one season before taking over as interim GS coach. Hire some assistant coaches with experience around Roy and it COULD work.

It would probably be a disaster, but I would honestly prefer Roy becoming coach than continuing with Romar. You know Cohen isn't going to hire a Greg Marshall or Archie Miller.

I had this same way of thinking. At first, it sounded like the dumbest idea ever, but you know Roy would be a lights-out recruiter. For those who know the local hoops scene, you also know that he will get dirty with recruiting too. And who knows, maybe the fuckers will be able to assemble a good coaching staff.

Sure you're on fire but once you hit the water, the fire goes out and you just swim to the shore with maybe some 3rd degree burns.
