Weddington will most likely become another Beau Bisharat, whom Stanford dropped at the last second last year. Beau had to do a lot of begging to get a last second Pac 12 spot. I'm hearing that Stanford has already got their guy ahead of him and Weddington is now out. Connor should take that Baylor offer immediately.
It's really simple ... this is a puff piece trying to put on a good PR face for what will ultimately come ...
If Stanford now no longer has room for him, that takes away the place where Connor really wanted to go ... so he looks really stupid for what he did with regards to UW ... particularly when you consider that he'll look really stupid if he doesn't go to either UW or Stanford. This is just trying to sway public opinion to make Pete think it's not that bad to let him back to Washington ...
I'd be surprised if it works though ... by all accounts he's burned bridges at Washington and this PR face saving isn't going to win any favors with Pete even in a good situation.
I'd laugh my ass off if he ended up down at Baylor.
I love how in the article, he essentially admits that his family was scheming against Petersen this whole time - staying off social media, doing a whirlwind visit of schools in January. Why the fuck did he commit if he knew he was going to take visits?

It's those damn millenials. If you want to go to another school that's great but don't commit and visit a school of rapists or believe some drunk coach who sucks at his job.
He's the kind of guy who brags about being humble, then also creates a recruiting circus for attention when everyone knows Stanford is where he will end up. You don't get accepted to Stanford, decommit from UW giving education as the excuse, then end up anywhere else... unless Stanford screws him over like they've done to recruits in the past.
After reflecting on UW's lack of depth both at safety and in big backs, I'm gonna walk this back. I still want him, if there's a face-saving way for Pete to manage it. Like maybe make the kid really grovel and apologize. He is a baller.

Classy? I'll take winning over classy any day....through injury or not. Should he blow out two ACLs, that would help UW.
