Is he a rare and exceptional body type that 2 out of 4 times becomes and early round draft pick?

He could be an exception, but most great interior DLs are shorter than Gaye because they need to get low, hold their position and get under the pads of OLs. It's called LEVERAGE. Most are very compact and explosive with a wide butt.

Again, he may be one of the few really good tall interior DLs. It's just uncommon.

Respect his decision. No picures at this time.
Marlon never but a time limit on it. But, still.

Calias Campbell, Tony McDaniel, Jarran Reed, JJ Watt (3-4 plays inside mostly), Michael Bennett ( he plays inside a lot of the time), and Michael Brockers all say Hi!
Dude, I said it was "uncommon," not impossible. Besides, all the guys you mentioned (except Brockers) are not legit 3-technique guys. They're big DEs. That is a different position than Marlon, who is more interior (NG or 3T). And Jarren Reed may be a 3T but he is only 6'3".
All the really good tall D-linemen have massive wingspans to make up for their lack of leverage. With well coached technique they can shed blocks just as well as the shorter guys who use power and leverage to do most of the damage.

Haven't yet seen a good enough picture or video of Gaye to see if he's got the gorilla arms or not.
