It's not that $$$ is beneath USC ... that being said, if you get out recruited less than a week after an official visit tied into the bulk of your class and SC can get you to visit ... questions need to be asked ...
It's easy to claim foul play ...
Looking at it internally and figuring out the breakdown also needs to take place ...
Dropping the ball like this in the corporate world would be viewed as a terminable offense depending on the facts and circumstances
Oh Christ. Fire all the coaches. We're back to 0-12.
In case you haven't followed football for the last 25 years, USC gets who they want, especially when they are good.
Also, rumors out there now that Tui had been secretly talking and meeting with USC coaches for the last month and had this planned. Was going to visit last week and Pete found out so he lied to Pete .
Oh please. If he wanted to check out USC a month ago he would have done it.
No need to think some 17 yr old kid is going James Bond on a coach he clearly has an affinity for, whether he commits here or not.
The miss starts on our end by not closing the potential openings ...
Teq we are just bsing and coming up with excuses for our program's shortfalls.
I just hope he did not pull a conny wedding move. If he did, then I would be interested to see if Peterman sticks to his principals and pulls the offer.
This guy has been comited since April and has not wavered once. Yes it looks bad but it also looked really bad for Miami with dj. Jones looked all but gone at one point. Let's let this play out before we take out the pitchforkd

Dude it's so fishy.... but yes we are fucking retards for not damming up the problem areas.
There's always things in recruiting that smell fishy ...
If you don't play the fishy game your job is to shore up openings and if you have reason to be concerned you either fix it or move on to a contingency plan ...
The miss here for me is less about 1 particular recruit but the big picture elements ...
By only recruiting 1 in the class at a priority position on the field we opened ourselves up to a massive potential liability ...
We have now apparently had at least 2 recruits in this class that have given verbals for this class and then carried on their recruitment in the shadows behind the scenes ...
Do we have issues with our recruiting strategy that we need to address?
How do we combat going forward the reality that basically the entire conference will be trying to go after our verbals and targets?

That is all.
