Jimmy Lake was UW's DB coach in 2004. He was a coach on the 0-16 Lions and had the worst secondary in the NFL with Tampa Bay.

He had some good jobs on paper, but his success is all with Petersen. When we hired him I remember Boise State fans not being huge fans.

Sucks to possibly lose Lake, but the d staff is still loaded. I'll LIPO on whoever the new coach is.

The HC is always the straw that stirs the drink. So simple and obvious, yet for some reason so easy to forget. Up until the day Dykes was fired there was a sizeable contingent on BI that was convinced that all Cal needed to do to be successful was get a decent DC. As if the Holmoe experiment didn't teach us* anything (Holmoe went through three OCs, who many thought were the reason Cal sucked).

Peterman is one of the best. As long as he's in Montlake (hi Race!), you*ll be more than fine.
