Can we include metal? If so, Kill 'em All, Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, and And Justice for All will never be topped. Ever.

Bass too thing on And Justice For All.

Just kidding, I love that record. That's a pretty good 4 album run for metal, but I for my money, I would go with the first 4 Sabbath Albums.
So, I am a HUGE Sabbath fan as well...this will be from memory so fuck off if I make a mistake or two.

Round 1: Kill em All vs. Black Sabbath

    KEA:

    Four Horseman - great track
    Motorbreath - great track
Seek and Destroy - legendary track
Am I Evil (only on early version) - legendary track

    BS:

    Black Sabbath - great track
    The Wizard - legendary track
    N.I.B. - great track
    Evil Woman - okay track

If you don't count Am I Evil, slight edge to Sabbath, but if you do include it, edge to Metallica. So, draw is how I will call it.

Round 2: Ride the Lightning vs. Paranoid

    RtL:

For Whom the Bell Tolls - legend
    Fade to Black - legend
    Creeping Death - legend
    Call of Cthulu - great

    Paranoid:

War Pigs - Fucking kidding me??!?!?!?!?!?
    Iron Man - legend
    Paranoid - legend
    Fairies Wear Boots - great

Such a close one here, but I'd probably give it to Sabbath. This is Sabbaths best album though, and it is probably Metallica's second or third best...War Pigs puts it over the top...it is a song, much like One that sets the tone for an entire era of metal.

Round 3: Master of Puppets vs. Masters of Reality

    MoP:

Battery - um yeah, does it get any better?
    Master of Puppets - legend
    Welcome Home/Sanitarium - legend
    Orion - insane

    MoR:

    Sweet Leaf - legend
Children of the Grave - great
    Into the Void - good
***This is all I can think of...did I forget one?

This is where Metallica really starts pulling away. This one isn't close. MoP is the greatest metal album ever, and Sabbath is trailing off.

Round 4: And Justice For All vs. Vol. 4

    AJFL:

    Blackened - legend
    Harvester of Sorrow - legend
    One - Fucking kidding me???!!?!?!?!?
Dyer's Eve - good to great

    Vol. 4:

    Changes - legend
    Supernaut - great
    Snowblind - legend
    Wheels of Confusion? - okay

Metallica again. I have always liked Vol. 4, but it just can't stand up to the power of Justice.

My scorecard has it at one convincing win for Metallica, a close win for Metallica, a close win for Sabbath and a draw. This was won in the 3 spot because Puppets is just a MUCH better album than Reality. Jesus, I went fucking Tequilla here but this shit is wheelhouse.

Also, having seen Ozzy live, Metallica multiple times, and Sabbath fronted by Ian Gillan, there is no comparison live. Metallica crushes them. Maybe if I had seen Sababth with Ozzy or Dio it would be different, but I doubt it. And I am the biggest Dio fanboy ever.

    Anyway, Metallica forever fuckers.

    TNT
    High Voltage
    Dirty Deeds
    Let There Be Rock
    Powerage
    Highway to Hell
    Back in Black

That's a pretty strong line up right there, too.

Those are all terrific albums and I own them all. But I don't think AC DC belongs in the same "greatest" rock band of all time conversation with the likes of the Stones or Zeppelin. They were too much of a one trick pony, albeit a band that got everything they could out of that formula.
I grew up in Shelton so all those highbrow words mean nothing to me.

This whole thread needs to be flagged for mentioning metal and not Motörhead.

I think your methodology is sound in this exercise @Swaye but we would just disagree on the score card due to matters of taste. I enjoy Metallica when I'm in the mood and like their 80's body of work. But Sabbath is the end all, be all of metal bands to me. I would say first two Sabbath albums over first 2 Metallica by a mile. Master of Reality is a hard fought victory over Puppets. Draw between Sabbath 4 and AJFA. But that just me...

Saw Ozzy on the late 90's original Sabbath lineup reunion tour while at UW in the later 90's....was a pretty decent show for being old geezers. Pantera opened and those guys fucking sucked.

Zeppelin > The Who >>>>>> Rolling Stones

Giving you a pass as Asian
Smoke a pus filled cock PJ. The Stones can't hold a candle to either of those bands.

I was right about the NVA. As always.
I am huge Zeppelin and Who fan, but to say the Stones can't hold a candle to either is FS. Everyone knows that the Beggars Banquet, Let it Bleed, Stinky Fingers, Exile on Main Street run is the greatest 4 album winning streak in the history of rock music. Case closed.
    @YellowSnow
I love you man! Not ashamed to say it either!
    You guys are fucking old
You can't get good musical taste from an algorithm.
    @YellowSnow yes you can.
