I've been doing some GIS work for the last few weeks (not my normal gig but it is related to some zoning consulting in Seattle).

Anyway, I recently learned that PLSS is the Public Land Survey System and is used in every single legal lot definition in most of the US. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_Land_Survey_System

I know, cool story, but I suspect Pup is a GIS guy or a surveyor, and now every time I see a thread with PLSS in the title, I think of geography.
