People forget that this is the third season that USC has handed UW their only loss heading into the bowl game.

In 1959 UW beat #1 Minnesota in the 1960 Rose Bowl after going 9-1 with a loss to USC.

In 1984 UW beat #2 Oklahoma in the 1985 Orange Bowl after going 10-1 with a loss to USC

And now this year #1 Alabama waits for the one loss to USC Huskies.
