That's possible, but I'm not convinced that generating buzz is the only motivation, there is real bias, same as it ever was.

Bottom line, it's just plain fucking stupid to allow an entire playoff field to be determined by a beauty contest.

I listened to the college championship week podcast yesterday(shoot me), and they didn't mention the UW game in 22 minutes of talking. the #4 vs #8 and they didn't even talk about it. Yes, there is a massive open bias going on at espn to try to steer the committee somewhere.
