Win your conference or GTFO

Wondering were you all sit with the idea of teams getting into the playoff wirhout winning the conference. OSU is fucking good but you know what, they slipped up and decided to fuck a cow and lost to there molester school. To bad so sad fuck off. Win your conference and your in the running, if not wait till next year and watch the conference champion have a run at the natty.

As parameters are now, yeah they look good and allows a second best team in a conference to get in. But what is every teams goal at the beginning of the season no matter what level the they are? It's to win the fucking conference. Id like to see thst conference champs get automatic bids for power 5 then you have 3 at larges.

PSU or Wisky get left out unless Clemson or UW lose.

I think that football should be settled on the field, not by popular vote. If you don't win your conference, I don't think you should get in. Is Ohio State the best team in the Big 10? Arguably yes, do they "deserve" to be In based on how good they are? Yes... but they didn't settle it on the field, Penn St beat them when it mattered and Penn St is in the Big 10 title game. I don't think Ohio St should be in the CFP, win your conference or GTFO.

I'm fine if the committee explicitly makes that a requirement.

Since they haven't done that, i say look at the whole resume. And OSU has a top 4 resume, rather easily.

If UW wins Friday, so will we.
I haven't seen any specifics reguarding that. I thought a few teams were penalized for not wining conferences.

IMHO, win or GTFO or expand to 8

It should be a factor but not a requirement.

This will be the year the expand to 8 chorus really starts to grow. Leaving out conference champs that BEAT the team replacing them (should PSU beat Wiscy) looks bad. Committee is probably really hoping for a Climpson or UW loss to make their life much easier.

Just a small correction. It's Climzin.

Conference champs get a New Years 6 bowl game. Does Oklahoma deserve a spot over Ohio state if they win the conference and Clemson and Washington lose even though Ohio state beat the ever living shit out of them on their home field? Not all conference schedules are equal even within the own conference.
With that logic we could have a playoff selection of Colorado, penn state, Oklahoma and Florida/va tech depending on what happens on Saturday. A playoff without Alabama and Ohio state regardless of what happens on Saturday is stupid.

Bama won the title without winning their division because they were the best team

    Ohio State is in

I think the only way Ohio State might miss out is if Clemson, Washington, and Penn State all win.

In that scenario, the committee has to choose h2h+conference title or vastly better overall resume.

Agree mostly, but since we want to do this play off shit, conference championships in the power 5 should count for something

Pretty sure that the committee has stated that winning your conference carries a lot of weight in their eyes. Time to back up their talk.

Ohio State beat 3 teams currently in the top 10 (Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Michigan).

They lost one game by 3 to another top 10 team. They belong and are going.

Disagree, pick the champ or pick the best fucking team, however you can't pick both.... if that was the case then is Bama, Michigan, Ohio State and the winner of Wisconsin and Penn State

Penn State and/or Wisconsin do not belong. They shouldn't have lost two games. Penn State was absolutely plungered in one of their losses too.

HR, YK. And two of those were on the road.

Ohio State has 2 more top 10 wins than the entire Pac12.

    *where *without *their *Too *you're

I basically agree, with one caveat. OSU has a very good football team, they should be in a playoff, but not this one. With just four spots, conference championships should mean something. If UW, Bama, Clemson and Penn State win their conference championship games, that should be the field, especially given that PSU beat OSU in head to head competition. The fix is to expand to eight, take the five power five conference champs and let the committee decide who wins the beauty contest for the remaining three spots. OSU has a real pretty mouth, they'd get a spot for sure. Maybe Michigan gets one too, and maybe even USC. That would be a helluva field.

Plungered by Michigan who lost to Iowa who was plungered by PSU and who ass fucked Ohio State ... but lost to Pitt who beat Louisville
