Honestly if we are at the point we are paying college football coaches $10+ million a year while the kids get paid nothing I think that's the day I walk away from college sports.

I assume the point being made is that if he is offered $10M we have a long way to go to be competitive and it is well worth his own money to accept that deal if offered (if only viewed from a financial perspective).

Oregon would be on the hook for some serious cash. 10M per for Peterman, plus 3M upfront for buyout, plus Slingblades' buyout (which I think is pretty big). That said, Phil could buy the entire state of Oregon if he wanted, so if he wants it, no problem.

I suspect assistants would also be in the 3-4M/year range as well.
