Assuming it's true (or will be) it would be naive to think Pete wouldn't consider it. I think he considers it but I doubt he takes it. A few reasons why:
A. Pete doesn't seem like someone who enjoys change. While some enjoy the excitement and drags if a new locale, new job and meeting new people, Pete seems like someone who hates all those things. I think it's why he stayed at Boise so long despite getting much bigger offers.
2. Helfrich. Pete seems loyal to a fault. He wouldn't want to hurt his fren.
3. Oregon might have a higher ceiling than UW as a program now thanks to facilities, money and national profile, but the ceiling isn't much higher if any and the short term prognosis for UW is significantly better. Oregon has a QB but a terrible defense, and while they might have more TBS certified "talent" who knows how much of they is PKG talent, or still has enough time to be developed properly/broken of bad habits.
4. Pete seems like somebody who wants to do it his way no matter what, which he can do at UW with a weak AD and no notable super boosters. At Oregon he'd have to deal with Uncle Phil and the shadow of Kelly.
I'll be a little nervous as long as that job looms open simply because of the dollar figures, but in the end I'm pretty sure coach stays.
tl; dr: IT'S OVER FOR PETERSEN!
You are reading too much into the loyalty card. Slingblade is out anyway. Sark took over Kiffin (excluding Interim Ed) and they are still bosom brahs.

That's true. Pete's basically the same exact guy as Sark so I guess you have a poont.

Higher ceiling comment is laughable. I expected better.
During the dark decade and a half I would watch games on tv from Autzen and be impressed by the crowd and noise compared to moribund Husky Stadium even after the remodel.
But now that WE ARE BACK, Husky Stadium makes Autzen Arena look like the shit hole it is.
We probably don't have the day spa training facilities UO has but we have good facilities for tuff players who will smash your face in.
Washington is a better job but you could just hop on over to oregon for 2 years, rack in 20 million and ride off into the sunset laughing at all the fools who gave you a stupid sum of money.
Pete isn't leaving unless his assistants get screwed on their salaries this off season. Paying a coach has never been a problem for UW when they are good. The neuheisel hiring at the time was thought to be insane how much we were paying him. Now that Pete has awakened the big dick swinging boosters from their slumber the coaching budget should go up significantly this off season. UW will not pay him 10/Million a year but they will always pay a good coach. Typically out west UW will pay more than anyone minus maybe USC. Oregon may change that but good luck. THey probably are likely to end up with someone like Mike Gundy and his glorious mullet.
Petersen was offered 10 mill in yesterdays dolla's to coach every major program in the cuntry back in the day. Sorry ducks. Aint happenin. Chip Kelly is the next coach at Oregon. WHy is Pete's name even brought up?
I think Helfy keeps job. Theyre going to be really good next year. BUt remember, pup said you'd all miss Woodward. Of course you all scoffed. Starting to see the wisdom puppy delivers everytime he posts? Cowhen wont pay. If she doesnt, which she wont I hope he leaves. IF anything just to spite you dumbfucks
