My hunch is that Smith focuses on coaching, since Tedford is not allowed player contact.

Tedford probably watches a lot of game film to evaluate our performance and makes suggestions, and also watches the game film for upcoming opponents with the other coaches.

Come on dude, you're smarter than that (I hope). He's a fucking consultant. Not a fulltime member of the staff. He might notice some stuff to clean up on film. But what he'll mainly do is break down the opposing team's defense and help find ways to exploit it.

What do you expect, Pete to annoy Tedford sicking the media on him and let him break down how they're going to attack USC's defense? For fuck's sake, when in your life have you ever seen a quality control guy fielding questions after games and talking about his film watching.

There is literally nothing Jonathan Smith can do at this point to get any credit from this board. We're the #2 scoring offense in the country, our QB is a Heisman candidate, our receiving corps went from worst to best in the conference, and we've seemingly been able to utilize 15 different players in a wide variety of schemes and formations that have consistently baffled opposing defenses. And we'll credit the failed Cal coach who works out of an office evaluating film part-time for the insane transformation our offense has undergone.

I don't really care because Smith looks like an eastern European lesbian, but the amount of shit we continue to give the guy is hilarious.
