I miss the days when the old Metro league public schools were good for a couple solid prospects a year. Hope Harrison can be one (and I hate Garfield...hi @doogsinparadise!)
If a Metro kid is a good athlete there's a better than average chance that he'll play basketball.
There's actually a better than average chance he doesn't even live in Seattle. Though this is true, even generally shitty seattle teams have good years now and then and advance to state quarterfinals, or semifinals. Roosevelt, Ballard, Nathan Hale, Beach, West Seattle, Rainier Beach, in the last ten years have got thumped by Odea or Eastside Catholic, then kick the shit out of other league champions or runner ups in playoff games. Garfield likely gets to the state quarters at least this year. In 3A Metro is arguably the SEC of the state with 2-3 really good teams, some middling teams that surprise now and then, and some absolute shit.
I an still mad. TreShaun was one of my favorite prospects.
I get why Pete wanted no part of Treshaun, but a local guy like that you should probably bring in. The local pressure will make them fall in line. Nobody wants to be a bust in their hometown.
