No matter what Chip does he isn't going to live up to what he did previously long term and wouldn't have anyway. Sure, he'd be infinitely better than Helfrich, but winning the conference 75% of the time wasn't happening in the aggregate.

Most great coaches are terrible in the NFL because they are the lowest paid guy in the room with the biggest ego and the players know they are going to fire the coach before they fire all of them. Urban is running the zone read and he's still smashing the fuck out of everyone. It's not what you do, it's how you do it.
Chip Kelly would not have a college Football program kicking ass in 3 years. Not unless they are already stocked and loaded. His offense was run by half of the teams in the country at one point but now people now how to stop it. And now teams are going away from it. He and Oregon were lightning in a bottle at the time with the uniforms, facilities and success on the field. But it's over.
He would have the Ducks back to Bellotti status. But never back to annual BCS games. Too many other schools have more sizzle now and Oregon's facilities don't stand out any more.
