Welcome to the Hardcore Husky Forums. Folks who are well-known in Cyberland and not that dumb.
Petersen made adjustments
Our offense was shit for his first 2 years. It's decent now (not ready to say good due to the bad defenses we have faced). The 4 biggest problems were
1. Terrible linemen left from Sark - he has brought in a couple of studs and coached up the other ones to be serviceable
2. Babushka - he hired Tedford to knock the stupid out of Smith (hopefully t stays this way)
3. WR never improved - he fired the WR coach and brought in a new one who not only has made Ross/Pettis on of the best in the conference... but in the entire nation.
4. A shit stable of QBs - he went out and made sure he got his guy for the next 4 years.
Took a little longer than it should have but I'm glad that when I watch the offense now I have confidence they can actually sustain a drive.

Now I'm thinking he is pretty good, whoever the fuck he is. (I can't remember names when I'm hungover and I'm too lazy to look it up right now)
Meanwhile, Stanford's OL is going to shit. Who would have predicted this, this year?
I really don't think people understand how bad the linemen were that Sark left. They were an embarrassment. No matter how good of a coach you are you don't turn that shitshow into good in your first year or even two.
Coaching matters the most but talent is also big.
I don't disagree his recruiting could be better but I still think time will tell. I think Vera Tucker flips once we beat USC by 40 at home.
At the very least the lines improvement this year has let him go from "fire his ass yesterday" to "LIPO".
All I'm saying is, I don't hate him anymore. Our OL is better than both Stanford's and Oregon's. That is pretty cool.
McGary was recruited by Kwat on D.
Trey was already committed and said he re-upped because he believed in Pete. HenRob was coming no matter what.
Nobody wanted Matt James.
Nobody wanted John Turner (who?)
Nobody wanted Burleson.
Nobody wanted Nick Harris.
His only W in recruiting is Twattenberg and no matter what ANYONE says, we took Harris to guarantee Twat wouldn't defect to the Tree.
Look, it's cool if you can find diamonds in the rough, but that's not a sustainable fucking recruiting strategy. He had THREE YEARS to flip Fozz and he's going to get blown out by a team we destroyed this year. He got outfoxed on AVT who is PERFECT for our offense. By fucking USC. Nip is his coach! Eifler came last year! We can't get fucking Henry in the boat to save our lives (even though he will eventually come because he is going to UW no matter what).
These are serious issues.
You want all your coaches to be like Hamdan, Malloe, Gregory, Kwat and Lake - great results on the field AND great results in 'crootin.
I will change my tune if we get Fozz and AVT, but we won't. We are going to get stuck with the bottom of the fucking barrel again and by the way - the guys that are out there beasting Stanford and Oregon - ARE NOT BOTTOM OF THE BARREL GUYS. Trey and Kaleb were BIG TIME croots. Fucking Brostek was pretty big time (he had a lot of good offers). Jake E was really underrated in HS (always loved him, go back and read my dawgman poasts faggots!) and Coleman Shelton isn't that good.
So, yeah - it matters. However, I will say this, between he and Socha our line (particularly our Ts and Jake E) looks fucking badass.
We are going to miss Jake E a lot. Dude is a banger.
Who is like that? Greatwood at Oregon? His line just got its shit pushed in, big time.
NO ONE WANTS THE FUCKING REVERSE YOU FUCKMONKEY. WE WANT ABUNDANCE YOU SHIT BIRD.
But the point is if you are going to call out a coach as somebody you hate because he should be doing something better, you ought to be able to point to a better option. Otherwise the shit ain't as obvious as it might seem on the surface.
And I'm annoyed by the fact some of the more egregious trolls and asshats around here aren't doing their fucking mea culpas. These are guys who would call someone a doog for expressing a single optimistic opinion, who continue to cling to stale, bullshit narratives or who move the goalposts now.
I don't think you're in that category.
